By Car:
From Madrid:
- Take the A6 A la Coruña motorway from the harbour of Guadarrama.
- Continue, following signs León. Once you reach León, continue on the AP-66, signposted Oviedo.
- Once you cross the bypass of Oviedo, take the A8, signposted Santander.
- Continue towards Santander and, after approximately one hour, take the exit 310 to Posada de Llanes.
- Pass the town Posada de Llanes and follow the signs to Arenas de Cabrales (Posada-Arenas) for approximately 30 minutes.
- Alternatively, take the A1 motorway towards Burgos.
- Near Burgos, take the BU11 towards Logroño-Santander.
- At the roundabout, take the second exit signposted N 627.
- At the roundabout, take the first exit signposted A 67 Torrelavega.
- Once in Torrelavega, follow the signs to Oviedo.
- Continue on the motorway until you reach the Unquera region.
- Exit towards Parque Nacional Picos de Europa.
- Cross the town of Unquera and continue towards Panes (on the secondary road C 621).
- Once in Panes, take the detour towards Arenas de Cabrales (secondary road AS 114).
From Barcelona:
- Take the A2 towards Zaragoza-Lleida.
- Exit at Logroño and continue on the motorway until you get close to Zaragoza.
- Join the AP 68.
- Continue towards Bilbao, and then take the A8.
- Continue towards Santander.
- At the Santander bypass, continue towards Torrelavega (important: the signs are very small, they are located on the right-hand side of the road, if you miss them, you will reach the city centre).
- Near Torrelavega, take the detour towards Oviedo, and continue on the motorway until Unquera region.
- Exit at Parque Nacional Picos de Europa.
- Cross the town of Unquera and continue towards Panes (on the secondary road C 621).
- Once in Panes, take the detour towards Arenas de Cabrales (secondary road AS 114).
From the Basque country:
- On the outskirts of Bilbao, take the A8 towards Santander.
