Quinta do Bacêlo is surrounded by peaceful vineyards and orchards and is flanked by a large garden with swimming pool, from where there is a magnificent view over the surrounding countryside. Shady greenery surrounds the pool should you wish to escape from the Portuguese sun.
The house even has its own beautiful chapel, dedicated to St. Anthony. Here you will find peace and moments to yourself. When you are feeling more adventurous you can explore the region, which offers many exciting outdoor pursuits, such as rock climbing and mountain biking. Or for something more sedate, the nearby rivers of Tamega and Douro allow for relaxing countryside walks and fishing.
By Car:
From Porto:
- Take the A1 to Penafiel/Vila Real.
- Exit at Penafiel Sul/Entre-os-Rios.
- Take the Road N106 in the direction of Entre-os-Rios (12 km).
- Turn left to Rio de Moinhos on the N312 (300 metres).
- On the left you see the the sign: Quinta do Bacêlo - Turismo Rural.
From Porto but by the Douro River:
- Take the N108 to Entre-os-Rios.
- Then take road 106 (5 km).
- Cross Termas de S. Vicente and turn right to Rio de Moinhos on the N312 (300 metres).
- On the the left you will see the sign 'Quinta do Bacelo'.
