It has been carefully restored as to keep the style from years gone by and the charm that attracted many famous faces including Federico Garcia Lorca.
Lanjarón is the door to the Alpujarra and area where Arabs stayed a century longer that in the rest of Spain- nailed strategically in the southern slope of Sierra Nevada Natural Park, only 20 minutes away from the Costa Tropical and half an hour from the city of Granada.
From 1917 the hotel has hosted many artists, writers, bullfighters and folk singers, Federico García Lorca and his mother used to spend summers here. From his room he wrote to other personalities of that era -like Salvador Dalí and Manuel de Falla- who sometimes visited him here.
As well as visited by artists like the painter López Mezquita, the flamenco singer Juanito Valderrama, the bullfighter Manolete and his girlfriend Lupe Sino.
One of the main attractions is the Lanjarón Spa located just 50 metres from the hotel where you can indulge in a whole range of treatments. Its waters enriched with bicarbonate, calcium, chloride, iron, magnesium and flows at 16/27 degrees are thought to help some conditions like arthritis, back and liver problems, rheumatism and stress to name just a few.
Granada-Lanjarón
-Take the A-44 towards Motril, detour Lanjarón, Las Alpujarras from the N323.
There is no car park but there is enough space in the street for parking.
Lanjaron is also easily reached by bus from Granada city.
